Background
Founded in 1991 originally as McPherson & Associates, the Century City firm features attorneys who have firsthand knowledge of the entertainment industry. In addition to being an attorney who has lectured extensively and authored numerous articles on entertainment and business litigation issues over the past 30 plus years, founder Edwin F. McPherson also has experience as a musician, a recording engineer, and a producer. This insider industry insight, paired with decades of experience devoted to this unique area of the law, allows the firm to navigate any issues or disputes that arise, both efficiently and effectively.
What Sets Us Apart
Although our attorneys have received significant training and experience at larger law firms, our clients benefit from the personal attention that can only be found at a boutique law firm with a distinct specialization. Our attorneys have engaged in all aspects of civil litigation in state and federal courts in California and many other jurisdictions. As skilled at trial, arbitration, and appellate work as our lawyers are, we approach matters with the goal of minimizing the risks of litigation, frequently employing creative forms of alternative dispute resolution to save clients the time and money involved in battling through the court system. This commitment to personal attention and providing clients with the best possible resolution has meant that the firm’s clients tend to be return clients, coming back to the firm every time they need guidance through the complex legalities and crises that are often encountered as part of their chosen careers.
